Our project for transforming an old sun-room into a use-able garden room has been completed. We have replaced the old worn down wooden framed & glass sun-room into a room that can be comfortably used all year round. The sunroom transformation changed the large pitched roof to a pent roof. Mrs J wanted a room she could use for entertaining and decorating her cakes. She realised her current garden room was worn down and wouldn’t be suitable to use so she changed it to an insulated garden room which can open up more potential uses for her.
The existing walls of the garden room was used as the foundation for the Cre8a build. This eliminated the cost of a base because there was already one to use. The old wooden windows and frames were removed and replaced by ourselves. Modern grey upvc windows and french doors externally and white internally. Windows and doors manufactured by Highseal Manufacturing. The pitched roof was replaced with a solid, multilayered insulated roof. The roof had an overhang of 300mm which also housed 6 external spotlights. Creating an ambiance around the garden room in the evenings.
Mrs J was worried the solid roof would create a dark room but the light colours and the spotlight gives enough light into the room! The customer decided she wanted to plastering her garden room and decorate it herself. She refurbished all the furniture herself and turned it into a gin room she can enjoy and relax in.
The sunroom transformation project was completed in five days and planning permission was not required as we replaced one building with another the same size. The size was 6.915m x 4.07m and costed around £12,000. The project took place in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire but Cre8a can travel nationwide.
